Members of Critical Thinking Group, a pro National Democratic Congress (NDC) social network group have lashed out at the flagbearer of the opposition, New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Darkwa Akufo Addo over disparaging remarks he made against the President.

The Nana Addo at his rented crowd rally held at Mantse Agbonaa to officially outdoor the party’s Parliamentary candidates in the Greater Accra put an ill-informed question to Ghanaians. The question was “Who is in charge of Ghana”?

But, in a strong-worded press release issued by the Head of Communications, Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo, Phreddy Adomako, Millicent Agbevivi, and Ayitey Basty all members of the group in Accra, it stated that:  “Ordinarily, such question ought to be ignored with the contempt that it deserves”.

At the said rally, Nana Addo said among other things that because of the Woyome scandal, he wonders who is in charge of the running of the country because according to him, the President’s two directives to his appointees were flouted, and on the basis of this, mischievously asked the whether the president is in charge.

However, responding to this diabolic and myopic question, the group said: “We want to put on record that the claim that the President’s directives were twice disobeyed is not supported by the records. Indeed according to the EOCO Report commissioned by the President, the first time the matter came to the attention of the President, he asked that the payment to Woyome be stopped, and this directive was duly complied with”.

It is the compliance with this directive that prompted Woyome to go to court, even when Woyome got the consent judgment debt of GHC51million, the President again directed that the payment to him should not be effected. This directive was duly complied with, until the court ordered the payment which effectively tired the hands of the President, the group explained.

The least he could do is to be seen as disobeying or interfering with judicial process which the 1992 constitution frown upon, the press released collaborated.

We cannot fathom how on the basis of these events one can say that the President is not in charge, unless it is only for vile propaganda purpose.

According to the NDC youth group, We want at this juncture to inform Nana Addo Dankwa that the man in charge that he is failing or has failed to acknowledge is His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the man who gave him technical-knockout during the 2008 election which went to round three.

They said they want Nana Addo to get it once and for all that, the man in charge is President Mills, who within the space of three years has managed the economy of Ghana to enviable height evidenced by the massive reduction in inflation rate, longest in the history of Ghana, the reduction in the interest rate charges by banks in the country.

The country’s gross international reserves as at January 2009 was US$ 2bn covering 1.8 months of imports cover. Under his watch, it is about US$5bn covering five months of import cover. These are the products of the sound management of the economy under the man in charge, President Professor John Evans Mills.

The man in charge is no other person than Professor John Evans Attah Mills who has within the space of three years ensured that 99% of public sector workers have been migrated on the single spine salary structure (SSS) which for eight years the former President Kufuor and Nana Addo failed to deliver, it is clear that Nana Addo considers these achievement as something that cannot be done without miracles or magic, we want Nana Addo to know that, they were achieved under the decisive  leadership of Professor John Mills.

It is under the leadership of the man who is in charge that two important national assets, that is Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) have been given new and restored life by effectively retiring the debt owned by TOR unlike the situation where former President Kufuor and Nana Addo, even with TOR debt recovery levy, they failed willfully to retire the debt , it may well be that they were not in charge.

It is important to state that under the honest and sound leadership of the man in charge, Ghana has been able to meet the four primary convergence criteria of the West Africa Monetary Union. In the area of social intervention under the truthful leadership of President Mills, the  NHIS, School Feeding Programme, LEAP and the Free School Uniforms Programme,and the Metro Mass Transport Services, have all  been enhanced and made better within three years in government.

It is under the leadership of the man in charge that respect has been restored to the presidency, which became the disbursement center of kickbacks under the rule of former President Kuffour and Nana Addo when they were supposedly in charge, if this is what Nana Addo means that Mills is not in charge then we humbly concede that President Mills cannot be in charge of such disbursement of kickbacks.

Nana Addo should get it once and for all that it is under the man in charge that, that the Security Agencies, have been properly and adequately resourced to protect the internal and external security of the country, within three years of sound and purposeful leadership, the Ghana National Fire Service which has  been starved of logistics has received massive injection of logistics, not to talk of the Ghana Police and the Army Forces, the President just yesterday commissioned four brand new naval boats  to  augment the existing fleet if any.

For the first time in the history of the production cocoa in Ghana, we have produced more than one million metric tons of cocoa with its resultant contribution to economic growth and development.

In the area of road infrastructure, the man in charge has secured funding for the Gang of four road project, thankfully, these projects are at various stages of completion, the Bypass from Panbros, the Dansoman road, Awoshie-Pokuase bypass,Spintex bypass,Tema Motorway Traffic Light and the Eastern Corridor road, among others.

Last but not the least under the visionary and purposeful leadership of the man in charge, President John Evans Attah Mills, the trade in narcotics which became free for all trade when former President Kufuor and Nana Addo were in charge has become under president Mills, a high risk trade, the commitment of the government to the fight t has resulted in the arrest of the key suspect in the disappearance of the 76 parcel of cocoa we on board the MV. Benjamin, in the person of Asem Darkey, a.k.a, the limping man, and the key suspect in the importation of US$ 400m worth of cocaine into Guinea.

According to them, we want to end by stating once again that President Professor John Evans Attah Mills has never failed to provide the visionary, sound, and truthful honest, purposeful and the decisive leadership that Ghana needs in her forward march for peace and prosperity for all.

What they are  not sure is whether Nana Addo Darkwa Akuffo Addo is in charge of the Npp, whose constitution provide that the flagbearer of the party becomes the leader of the party, their fear is evidenced by the flagbearer’s indecision on certain happenings in the Npp he is  indecisive even just with the choice of running mate.

He is overwhelmed by the power brokers in the party, just as Dr. Arthur Kennedy said, ‘Addo’s choice of running mate in 2008 was Hajia Alima Mahama, and because of indecision, Dr. Bawumia was imposed upon him, as was captured in his book “Chasing the Elephant into the Bush, The Politics of Complacency. The group humbly asked Nana Addo Darkwa Akuffo Addo a question “WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE NPP?
